Maloneview is to speculatively refurbish Springfield House, a self-contained office in Sale which sits alongside the developer’s £67m overhaul of The Square shopping centre.
Fronting Springfield Road, the building totals 14,700 sq ft of offices over two upper floors with a self-contained ground floor reception. The full internal and external refurbishment of the building will include new windows and air conditioning.
Under a planning application approved in March this year, Maloneview intends to redevelop the neighbouring The Square, including a partial demolition of the existing shopping centre, replacing it with a six-screen cinema; up to 37,000 sq ft of retail and leisure over nine units, three of which will be in the cinema building, and six more within a new retail terrace. Simpson Haugh is the architect, while Exterior Architecture has worked on the public realm design.
Mark Canning, director at Canning O’Neill, said: “With few options for office space in Sale and pent-up demand, Springfield House will undoubtedly appeal to businesses looking for a highly accessible office location that appeals to clients and employees alike. Our client has significant plans for The Square Shopping Centre which will be coming forward over the next 12 months will further improve the area.”
Works on Springfield House will start in the New Year with completion scheduled for June 2020.
Canning O’Neill is retained by Maloneview as sole letting agent.
