This Sunday BBC’s Songs of Praise was broadcast from our very own Salford. The show’s focus was Lawrence Steven Lowry, with the entire programme looking at the scenes he painted and the green parts of Salford that he loved.
One of the scenes he painted was Lowry Mill, he’d also worked there collecting rents from the ‘cotton girls’! Russell Watson sang ‘Jerusalem’ to a back drop of the new modern environment now available at Lowry Mill with old photography footage of the working environment there back in the day!
