Sale regeneration continues with sale of Springfield House

Altered Space, the owner of Stanley Square Shopping Centre in Sale, has completed the sale of the long leasehold interest in Springfield House to an un-named occupier.

The building, previously occupied by Nationwide Building Society, provides 14,702 sq ft of office accommodation over two floors in the heart of Sale town centre.

The occupier will be undertaking a full internal and external refurbishment of the building.

Speaking about Springfield House, Mark Canning, director at Canning O’Neill commented: “The disposal of the long leasehold interest in Springfield House is part of Altered Space’s wider strategy for remodelling and enhancement of what was previously called The Square Shopping Centre. The first phase of refurbishment is already well underway and new occupiers signed to the scheme include Foodhall, Blanchflower, Greens and Sugo Past Kitchen, as well as numerous exciting independents.”

Planning approval was achieved in October 2021 for a new Day Nursery next to Springfield House on Springfield Road which is subject to a 30 years pre-let to Kids Planet Nursery. Construction on this element of the project is due to commence in Spring 2022.

2022 should also see the start of construction works on Altered Space’s landmark residential project as designed by Simpson Haugh Architects, including 202 luxury apartments and townhouses.

Altered Space will also be bringing forward ‘The Classrooms’ in the New Year – a small office scheme above the retail units providing smaller occupiers and SMEs with good quality accommodation in suites from 230 sq ft.

Canning O’Neill and JLL acted for Altered Space on the sale of Springfield House.

Canning O’Neill and Sixteen are appointed to market ‘The Classrooms’.

Sixteen and Lyons Thompson Letts are appointed to market Stanley Square Shopping Centre.
