Perfect places to do business this year: Wilmslow, Cheshire

| Leanne Forshaw Jones

Wilmslow is a renowned Cheshire suburb, sitting alongside Prestbury and Alderley Edge in what is commonly referred to as ‘Cheshire’s Golden Triangle’. But beyond its glitzy façade lies a dynamic and robust business community, fostering a vibrant culture that warmly welcomes companies of all sizes – from fledgling start-ups to larger organisations. Here we get under the skin of the town – and the newest workspaces we’re promoting.

A great location

Well-located Wilmslow is easily accessible from the A34 – the main road that can take you to the M56 motorway in a matter of minutes and to Manchester International Airport. More importantly – and sustainably – it’s got great transport connections with a train line that can have you at Manchester Piccadilly in just 15 minutes or to London in less than two hours!

Great places to socialise

Abundant bars, restaurants, a luxury boutique cinema, and a bustling high street adorned with diverse shops make Wilmslow an ideal place for entertaining clients and socialising with colleagues.

The town has certainly enjoyed a renaissance in recent months with The Mucky Pup and Italian restaurant Piccolinos recently opening their doors. Each new arrival complements Wilmslow’s already impressive mix of businesses – with venues like Japanese restaurant Unagi, Cibo, Smoke, Juniper, Casa Italia, the Easy Fish Company, Suburban Green and Eastern Revive, you truly do have an option to suit everyone’s taste.

They’ll be further bolstered with newcomers like Jerk Junction Caribbean Food, Gail’s Bakery and Trove Bakery – all of which will enrich Wilmslow’s gastronomic landscape in the coming months too.

But it’s not just the dining that’s shining a light on Wilmslow; the town’s retail offer has always been strong, anchored by the well-established Hoopers, but since its refurbishment and concessions with the likes of Mint Velvet, The White Company and Whistles, more are choosing to browse in the town than ever before. The luxury designer stores have further strengthened Wilmslow with Black White Denim, Viyella, Rumpus and Norton Barrie all offering designer clothing with the personal service touch of an independent store.

Great workspaces

But the best thing about Wilmslow? Its range of workspaces like these:

Something historic…

Bank Chambers is in the centre of town. A period building, the landlord has seamlessly married the charm of its historical architecture with all the things a modern occupier needs like LED lighting, heating and kitchen facilities.

A building in the bustle…

Grove Chambers is another well-located scheme, right next to Starbucks and Tesco Express at the heart of the town’s prosperous commercial retail centre. Right now, we’re marketing a 1st floor, 2,454 sq ft suite that’s air-conditioned and fitted with a boardroom, two smaller meeting rooms, plus a kitchen/break-out area.

Something small…

Perfect for Wilmslow’s start-up community, The Studios offers small office suites from 200 sq ft, complete with shared kitchen and other facilities.  And the best bit? The workspaces are available on an ‘All Inclusive’ basis (including utilities and WiFi).

A prestigious address…

Located at the junction of Manchester Road, Swan Street and Church Street in the heart of the town centre, Barons Court is a much sought-after address. This multi-let office complex is arranged in a series of multi-storey buildings surrounding an internal courtyard.

The buildings are of varying architectural design, providing a mixture of open plan and cellular office space – and they vary in size and layout, meaning occupiers can relocate or expand as their business grows.

These are just some of the buildings in our Wilmslow portfolio. If this is the place you want to do business in 2024, give us a call or click here for the full listings.
