Seddon Construction has broken ground on Dow’s UK and Ireland headquarters at Cheadle Royal Business Park.
The office is part of the wider £175m business park, which is being developed by Muse Developments and is set to be complete by late 2020. Leach Rhodes Walker is the architect on the scheme.
Global science solutions company Dow has taken a pre-let on the 26,000 sq ft building, which is set to house 40 members of staff with room for further growth.
This includes Dow’s national management team, its technical and sales office, as well as a product research and R&D facility.
John Case, country manager for Dow UK & Ireland, said: “Our investment in the local area is a sign of our commitment to the customer base we have here. Cheadle Royal is such an impressive new site. We can’t wait to move in and take advantage of the new state-of-the-art-facilities.”
Tom Webber, senior development surveyor at Muse, said: “We’re proud to be part of a strong, open partnership as represented here today to celebrate the start of construction on the site. Attracting Dow into Cheadle Royal and the borough of Stockport is a significant accomplishment. Not only does it complete development on part of the scheme, with only one plot still available, but will also bring highly-skilled jobs and investment to the area and provide a platform for long-term, sustainable regeneration.”
