Manchester property consultant, Canning O’Neill has topped the Manchester Office Agency Forum’s (MOAF) annual league table for the second time in three years. The take up figures are for the amount of space let in 2015 across the city centre, Salford Quays, South Manchester and Old Trafford.
Canning O’Neill let 584,000 sq ft space over the 12-month period, a 48% increase on 2014 when the agency completed deals on 395,600 sq ft space. The overall total market take up figure reached 1.322m sq ft this year, which is a 10,000 sq ft decline on the previous year (1.332m sq ft: 2014).
Canning O’Neill beat off stiff competition from CBRE (561,448 sq ft) and Edwards and Co. (487,118 sq ft), which took second and third place respectively. The agency was the second highest in terms of volume completing 115 transactions, behind Edwards & Co. which completed 173 deals in 2015.
Speaking about the achievement, Mark Canning, director, Canning O’Neill said: “To have achieved almost a fifty percent increase on last year’s figures is a real coup for the company. There have been some major deals at Soapworks, Exchange Quay, Manchester Royal Exchange and Manchester Green over the last 12 months and projections for 2016 are looking every bit as positive.”
