SALFORD CITY COLLEGE – THE FINAL FRONTIER

Salford City College have acquired the whole of Frontier House (11,930 sq ft) on Merchant’s Quay in the centre of Salford Quays.

The letting follows a lengthy search by the College for a building within which to consolidate a number of their administrative departments.

The letting of the building is seen by the office agency, Canning O’Neill, as an endorsement to the central Salford Quays location which benefits from immediate access to Metrolink, retail and restaurant facilities, hotels and also substantial on-site and off-site car parking. It also lies within the Media City boundary.

Canning O’Neill acted on behalf of the building’s owner, a private pension fund. The lease, which is for an unbroken term of 15 years, also includes an option for the college to purchase the long leasehold interest.

Canning O’Neill are also marketing Quayside House (8,739 sq ft) on Merchants Quay and solicitors have also been instructed on disposal on the whole of this building.

Commented Mark Canning of Canning O’Neill “Merchants Quays was one of the original office schemes built in Salford Quays in the mid 1980′s and is now proving to be popular again with those occupiers seeking smaller self contained office buildings. Canning O’Neill also negotiated last year the disposal of the long leasehold interest in Vanguard House.
